Member for Western Metro region Cesar Melhem MP today announced the beginning of works on the upgrade of Kenswick Drive Reserve in Hillside, thanks to a $194,000 grant from the Andrews Labor Government.
The revamp of Kenswick Drive Reserve will support recreational activities in a social setting, including an exercise station, a shelter, seating, a playground, new trees and landscaping works.
The project will create a vibrant and welcoming environment for locals and visitors to this rapidly growing area.
The project was funded through the Growing Suburbs Fund (GSF), with Melton City Council having received $10.7 million from the GSF over two years.
Mr Melhem said the redevelopment was vital to the reserve's future capacity to facilitate a range of recreational options in one of Melbourne's fastest growing areas.
Melton City Council contributed $193,000 toward the $387,000 project.
The Growing Suburbs Fund supports councils to provide projects that improve connections, enhance services, and provide greater opportunities for local communities.
