Today, on behalf of the Andrews Labor Government, I had the pleasure of opening the 2017 Melbourne West Jobs Fair at Victoria University Sunshine.
The day involved over 1800 jobs on offer from around 60 employers. There were also a number of workshops on how to write effective CV's, interview techniques and much more. Over 3000 people walked through the doors and 2500 CV's were submitted during the fair.
The event was part of the Automotive Workers Transition Plan which is jointly funded by the State and Federal Governments. Initiatives such as this are so important for finding jobs for our unemployed and helping auto workers to transition into new jobs after Toyota in Altona shuts down in October this year.
Big thank you to all the staff who helped make this event a great success.
