Old Geelong Road is one of 4 level crossing removal project sites currently in major construction in Melbourne’s West, to be completed in 2022.
As a part of this project, 3 huge concrete bridge pieces have made the 300km, 16-hour truck journey to form part of a brand new 1.2km road bridge.
This project will relieve traffic pressures for around 18,000 vehicles per day that pass through the level crossing and will free up access through to the Werribee Mercy Hospital. Removing the dangerous and congested level crossing at Old Geelong Road delivering people in the West safely to where they need to go.
