The Bacchus Marsh RSL Sub-Branch in Melton and Doutta Galla Aged Services in Footscray both provide services to Victoria’s veteran community and will receive a combined $70,000 grant to upgrade the buildings and facilities where they do their crucial work. Our Government is proud to be providing more than $800,000 worth of grants to 29 projects across the state through our Veterans Capital Works Grant Program – 26 of which are being led by RSL Sub-Branches.
The Bacchus Marsh RSL has been allocated $30,000 to offer mental health services and support to veterans and their families. As well as to construct a safe, private office to be used by Welfare Officers.
And Doutta Galla Aged Services has received $40,000 for building renovations including improving the accessibility of buildings and the quality of their amenities.
The projects include improving the accessibility of buildings such as installing ramps, exterior and interior works such as replacing a roof, and installing solar panels to reduce power costs. We recognise the importance of these projects and are proud to be backing these improvements, which will allow these organisations to better offer welfare support, commemorations and other community activities.
